Good Friday Litergy – 7 p.m.

imageThis service is a continuation of the Maundy Thursday Liturgy, and therefore, begins in silence as the night before ended in silence. The liturgy begins with the church and altar remaining bare after having been stripped at end of the Maundy Thursday Liturgy. The Good Friday Liturgy consists of four parts – 1. The Ministry of the Word with a focus on the Passion; 2. The Solemn Intercession; 3. The Meditation on the Cross of Jesus (a veiled wooden cross is placed upon the altar and is unveiled in three stages); 4. The Ministry of the Sacrament (from the Sacrament reserved at the Maundy Thursday Liturgy – all of the reserved sacrament is consumed at this service).
