Upcoming Southern Deanery Event: Mark your calendars for May 2 at Noon for a special luncheon to explore and celebrate the Centurion Program. The event is being hosted by the Church of the Holy Comforter in Cleburne and each parish in the Southern Deanery is invited. The Centurion Program is the primary means of relationship and is the cornerstone program of the Diocese of Fort Worth’s companion relationship with the Diocese of Northern Malawi. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to go as a group, represent our parish, and learn more about how we can participate.

Postal Food Drive: Saturday, May 9, is the date this year for our annual postal food drive ingathering. We will need lots of help to sort and put away the food we will receive for our food pantry. So, please plan to help if you are able and available.

Mother’s Day Offering: On Sunday, May 10, the Diocesan Church Women and the World Mission Committee will sponsor a Mother’s Day Ingathering to benefit La Gran Familia Boys’ and Girls’ homes in Northern Mexico. A special offering may be given on that Sunday for this ministry in honor or memory of a special woman in your life.

Bishop Iker Golf Challenge: The 15th Annual Bishop Iker Golf Challenge will be June 5 at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glenn Rose. This event is a four person scramble with shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch provided with door prizes. All proceeds benefit Camp Crucis capital improvements and Summer Camp scholarships. If you are interested, see Jimmy Henry for more details and a registration form. If you cannot play, you can still participate by tickets with the top prize being $500 cash! You do not have to be present to win.

St. John’s Annual Rummage Sale: The annual rummage sale will be on Saturday, June 13. Please help by gathering your items to sell and bring them to the parish beginning the last week in May.

Altar Flowers: The flowers on the altar this week are given to the Glory of God by Jimmy and Kris Henry in thanksgiving for Josh and Scott’s birthdays.
