Holy Unction
“Is any among you sick? Let him call on the elders (i.e., priests) of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” This admonishment comes from the Book of James (James 5:14-15) and is the basis for the Sacrament we call Holy Unction. Every Wednesday evening, the Sacrament of Unction is offered at the Eucharist. If you are bearing pain (whether in body, mind, or soul) come to the Wednesday evening Eucharist and receive this sacrament of healing and restoration.
