Why Study Church History?

Why Study Church History?
Many Christians today are ignorant of the history of the Church. Yet, the Church has been in existence since the Day of Pentecost (and was present in seminal form in the Old Testament people of Israel) which means that God has been at work in His world through the Church for centuries. Thus, there is much to gain from an examination of what God has done throughout these years. Additionally, many Christians fail to appreciate the development and articulation of doctrine. Therefore, a study of Church history also leads to a better understanding of Christian doctrine. So I invite you to join our Wednesday night study as we continue to walk together through some of the most historically significant times in the Church with the aim of better understanding God’s work in and through the Church and her articulation of the key tenets of the Christian Faith.
